The Sun (Psalm 19)

Not as a god, but as a radiant display of
The magnificent Glory of God,
Magnified by light that penetrates every
Corner of creation, pushing out the
Darkness and cold, covering every atom
With light and warmth, the Sun shines
Supremely in the sky, serving to signify
The all-sufficient and more supreme
Sovereignty and Glory of God.
Day to day pours out speech.
Nothing is hidden from the heat
Of its effectual decree, illuminating all
So that the Law is manifestly known
As perfect, pure, precise, and good;
And warming all with the white-hot
Heat that radiates from the Rock
And Redeemer who rules
All heaven and earth.

How could the mouth-words
And heart-thoughts from this sinner
Ever compare to the completely and
Perfectly resplendent Sun and Law of God?
How can I find acceptance?
I do not know, I do not know,
But let it be, let it be,
Have mercy on me, O Lord,
My Rock and my Redeemer,
Amen.
