This place is not as dark as it seems--
Its pleasures, both greater and lesser than dreams, Have echoes throughout of Eden's fair Light That has not diminished within the world's night. For God, He is Light, no darkness at all In Him can be found; e'en through the dark Fall, His Light still bursts forth in radiant day And casts all the darkness of dark far away. His Light evidenced in nature so fair In beauty and color; though oft unaware, Lost in darkness am I, occasionally His eye-quickening Light will sneak up on me And cause me thenceforth enraptured to stay 'Til that dark in me has been scattered away. And then with new eyes, my voice echoes true, "Lord, let me see this good world as you do!"
